1. Title: Facing the Rain Program Used: Clip Studio Paint Size: 3333 by 3333 px Date: September 2020 Exhibition Text: Facing the Rain is a digital self portrait depicting my uncertainty in the future, but also my unwavering determinedness to face it. The fine lines boldly outlining the realistic details in the fabric and facial features reflect one of my inspirations, Mucha, while the saturated color palette and solid swathes of color depict my other inspiration, Warhol.
2. Title: Imaginary Petrichor Medium: Water soluble oil paint Size: 30.5 by 30.5 cm Date: October 2020 Exhibition Text: Imaginary Petrichor is an oil painting of a section of the photo Path to Nowhere. It is meant to convey juxtaposing serenity and movement, as well as an underlying theme of instability. A light rain is depicted in the piece, blurring the lines into soft edges and giving a sense of calm, while the very saturated and limited palette and streaks of bright colors imbue feelings of excitement. However, the blue fog in the bottom of the painting imbues a feeling of dread as the edges blur together.

Title: The Debut of Venus Medium: Colored pencils on illustration board Size: 38.1 by 25.4 cm Date: November 2020 Exhibition Text: The Debut of Venusdepicts the figures from the painting The Birth of Venusby Botticelli in a modern setting, where Venus is being filmed for a homemade video. The posing and palette of the original piece are combined with the positive theme of the piece, showing how something fun and creative can be made without expensive and professional technology. There is also a slightly humorous theme to the piece caused by the dynamic posing of the left two figures and the brighter color palette for the right figure.

4. Title: Luncheon of the Content Creators Medium: Colored pencils on illustration board Size: 38.1 by 25.4 cm Date: November 2020 Exhibition Text: Luncheon of the Content Creatorsis inspired by Luncheon of the Boating Partyby Renoir, emulating its composition while replacing each subject with a celebrity from a video of people singing Imagine at the start of the lockdown caused by COVID 19 in March, 2020. The composition and colors at first give the piece a theme of casual enjoyment, however the presence of drinks and amenities serve as a symbol of undeserving wealth for the celebrities who are exempt from the circumstances of the average person.

Title: Lone Beaches Medium: Acylic and wood burning on wood Size: 25.4 by 34.5 cm Date: December 2020 Exhibition Text: Lone Beachesis an acrylic and wood burned painting inspired by Southwest Solitudeby Rozalia Singh. It features a portrait of my sister standing alone on a colorful beach illuminated by a white sun. There are distinctive swathes of solid color in the sky and beach contrasting areas of high interest as seen in the pants and border. The orange tinge around the burned border is further integrated into the piece through the warm color of the sky, thus bringing the two mediums together.

6. Title: Seasons of Change Medium: Acrylics on canvas Size: 91 by 91 cm Date: February 2021 Exhibition Text: Seasons of Change is three self portraits depicting how I see and express myself at different points in time. The posing, composition, and relative color palette of the illustration The Seasons (1897) by Mucha was mimicked in my own painting while certain elements were changed to represent the theme of my own changing identity. The ary style of Mucha is explicitly replicated through use of a bold color palette and subjects which are sharply defined by dark lines.

7. Title: Facing the Future Program Used: Digital; Clip Studio Paint Pro Size: 1398 by 1398 px Date: March 2021 Exhibition Text: Facing the Future is a quartet of portraits featuring my four siblings in a variety of saturated colors reflective of the palettes of psychedelic art. It was inspired by a previous piece created, Facing the Rain, which is a self portrait. It was painted digitally with a brush tool to allow for smooth blending of the various colors in each portrait. Each portrait shows the subject from a different perspective to call on the artist inspiration Cézane's tendency to paint from a changing view point.

Title: The Priests; Sword of God, Shepard of Sun and Moon, Life into Death Program Used: Clip Studio Paint Pro Size: 677 by 1567 px, 706 by 1489 px, 554 by 751 px Date: October 2022 Exhibition Text: The triptych The Priests redesigns the characters from an old set of drawings in the lens of Alphonze Mucha's prints. Lines were directly traced from his pieces ZodiacandReverie, and further inspiration was drawn from Joan of Arc by Albert Lynch and Monet's lily pond no.6 by Roelof Rossouw. Sharp, bold lines contrast bright lighting in each piece, with each having an intense, colorful, or more monotone color palette.
9. Title: Feelings out of Reach Medium: Oil and acrylic paint, rhinestones, felt flowers Size: 45 by 60 cm Date: November 2022 Exhibition Text: Feelings out of Reach is a self portrait capitalizing on its Baroque inspiration combined with a modern addition of artificial flowers and rhinestones to represent apathy and disconnection from one's feelings. The splayed red and white flowers fill the bottom of the canvas like they were dropped from the subject's hands, and in addition to the represented feelings being dropped, their falseness also further emphasizes a lack of true emotion from the subject.
